The Kakatiya University was founded on 19 August 1976 to meet the efforts of the Telangana people for higher education. The establishment of the university was indeed a historical event in the sense that a new era was announced in the areas of higher education in this region. The former post-graduate center of the Ottoman University has been updated and named Kakatiya University. The development of the university over the years was gradually but impressive. The University was originally accredited by the NAAC in 2002 with the B + Grade and in 2008 was awarded a grade.
